Common questions
We know you’re confused and worried. If you have questions that aren’t addressed below, please contact us for a no-obligation consultation.
Can you summarize the cleanup process?
The cleanup process consists of three general steps. First, we test samples of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor to determine how far the contamination spread. Second, we estimate the cost and time for different ways to clean up the contamination and then work with you to develop a plan. Third, we implement the cleanup, write a final report, and close the case.
Will you help me figure out what needs to be done?
Of course! Cleanups can be complicated, so we don’t expect you to know what you need. Let DFH’s professionals analyze the site and recommend a course of action.
Do I need to hire a contractor?
No, not usually. A benefit of working with DFH is that we have an in-house crew that performs commonly needed contracting work. As a result, you don’t pay for excess time to coordinate with your contractor.
Do you have to dig the contaminants up?
Sometimes. Digging is a great way to remove high concentrations of contaminated soil from shallow areas. It is often combined with less invasive cleanup techniques.
Can you help me pay for this?
We understand that a cleanup can be costly. Our insurance recovery service may help find money for the work.
